So we went camping in Virginia last summer and I had the chance to revisit “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark,” the classic terror compendium, and found that most of the stories were, um, not very scary at all, but the story above remains terrifying. But bad news: They’re thinking of changing the iconic illustrations! These people don’t know what’s good.
